Obesity can increase the risk of many major health problems, many of which are known to cause hair loss. Another reason for hair loss can be medications. Medicines used in the treatment of obesity-related diseases (type 2 diabetes, stroke, sleep apnea, coronary heart disease, liver and kidney disease, some types of cancer) can increase hair loss.
